The country gallery
How the country gallery works — mark a country visited, add memories, organize them into folders, and choose a cover photo.

Every country you've visited or added a memory from lives in one place: the country gallery. It's where covers, folders, and every photo or video tied to a country come together.
Where to find it
Click the house icon near your profile on the globe to open the gallery. It has two tabs — Albums, a grid of country cards, and Memory queue, where newly uploaded files wait before they're placed on the globe.

Countries with at least one memory also show a small metal flag magnet on their card instead of a plain placeholder — that reward is covered in its own article, country magnets.
Marking a country as visited
You don't need a memory to add a country to your gallery. Search for it in the Add a country you have visited… field at the top of the Albums tab, and it appears immediately as a new card — dashed outline and a "+" until you add a photo or video.
💡 This is also how your gallery gets its first few cards: right after you sign up, Galmund asks which countries you've already been to and pre-fills the ones tied to your home city and profile photo.
Adding memories to a country
Tap a country card to open its album. If the country doesn't have a cover photo yet, you're asked what to do first — Upload memories or Choose cover photo. Either way, uploaded files go through your memory queue and land on the globe automatically, using the GPS data from the file.
Organizing with folders
Inside a country's album, create folders to group memories — by city, by trip, however makes sense to you. Folders go one level deep (no folders inside folders). Drag a photo onto a folder to move it in, or open the photo's ⋮ menu and choose Move to folder.

Deleting a folder asks what to do with the files inside: keep them (they move back to the country's loose memories) or delete them along with the folder.
Cover photos
Any photo already in a country's album can become its cover. Open the file's ⋮ menu and choose Set as cover — Galmund lets you crop it before saving. You can also use Change cover photo directly on the country card.
The Free plan limit
On the Free plan, each country holds up to 10 photos or videos. Once a country reaches that limit, adding more there is blocked until you upgrade — Galmund+ and Member remove the per-country limit entirely.
⚠️ Removing a country from your gallery only works before it has a memory. Once a country has earned its magnet, delete the memories in it first if you want the country gone from your gallery.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to upload a memory before I can mark a country as visited?
No. Marking a country as visited is separate from adding a memory — it adds the country to your gallery right away, with a dashed placeholder card until you add your first photo or video.
Can I remove a country from my gallery?
Only if it doesn't have a memory yet. Once a country has at least one memory (and its magnet), removal is blocked — delete the memories first if you want the country gone.
How many photos or videos can I add per country on the Free plan?
Up to 10 per country. Galmund+ and Member remove that limit entirely.
Can I organize a country's photos into folders?
Yes. Open the country's album and create folders (one level deep — no folders inside folders). Drag a photo onto a folder, or use its "⋮" menu and choose Move to folder.
What's the difference between the gallery and the "magnet folder"?
They're the same screen. "Magnet folder" is just what we call the Albums tab when talking specifically about the flags you've earned — see the country magnets article for that side of it.
