Country magnets
How Galmund's flag magnets work — how you earn one, where they show up, and what happens if you delete your memories.

Every time you document a new country on Galmund, you earn a small keepsake for it: a flag magnet.
How you earn a magnet
Publish your first memory — a photo or video — from a country, and Galmund grants you that country's magnet automatically. There's nothing to claim or activate; it happens the moment the memory is saved.
💡 Marking a country as "visited" from the country gallery is not the same as earning its magnet. Visited status is just a note-to-self — the magnet requires an actual memory.
Where magnets appear
On the globe, countries you've earned a magnet for show a small metallic flag marker instead of the plain marker used for countries you've only marked as visited.

Your magnet folder
Click the house icon on the globe to open your magnet folder — a grid of cards, one per country you've marked as visited.
- Countries with a memory show their flag magnet.
- Countries marked visited but with no memory yet show a dashed placeholder with a + — a hint to add a memory and earn the magnet.

Your magnet count
The number of magnets you've earned appears near your profile on the globe, and counts toward your public profile stats if your profile is discoverable.
If you delete your memories
Magnets are tied to having at least one memory in that country. If you delete the last memory you have from a country, that country's magnet is automatically revoked — the flag disappears from your magnet folder and the globe marker reverts to the plain style. Add a new memory from that country later and the magnet comes right back.
Frequently asked questions
Do I get a magnet just for marking a country as visited?
No. Marking a country as visited only shows a dashed placeholder in your magnet folder. The magnet itself is only granted once you publish at least one memory from that country.
Can I lose a magnet?
Yes. If you delete every memory you have in a country, that country's magnet is automatically removed. Add a new memory from the same country at any time to earn it back.
Where can I see all my magnets at once?
Click the house icon on the globe to open your magnet folder — a grid of every country you've marked, with the ones you've earned showing their flag.
Does having more memories in a country give me more magnets?
No. It's one magnet per country no matter how many memories you have there — the magnet marks the country, not the individual memory.
