Sharing your itinerary for duplication
Share a read-only copy of your trip so others can duplicate it and use it as a starting point for their own planning.

If you've built a great itinerary and want to share it with friends or the community, you can make your trip available for others to duplicate.
What is trip duplication?
Trip duplication lets someone take your itinerary as a starting point for their own planning. They get a full copy — places, flights, accommodation, and the schedule — as an independent trip in their account. Your original is unchanged.
This is different from inviting collaborators, where multiple people edit the same trip.
Enabling trip sharing
- Open your trip in the Trip Planner
- Click the trip settings icon (⚙)
- Turn on Share trip — this makes the trip visible on your public profile

⚠️ Your profile must be set to Discoverable for shared trips to be visible to others. If your profile is private, the trip won't appear publicly even with sharing enabled.
What others see
When someone visits your public profile (galmund.com/u/username), they can see your shared trips. For each trip they can:
- View the itinerary, places, and schedule
- Click Duplicate trip to create their own copy

After duplication
The other person's copy appears in their My Trips list as a new trip. They can:
- Edit it freely — add, remove, or change anything
- Invite their own collaborators
- Use it as a template for a similar trip
Your original trip is not affected.
Frequently asked questions
Does the person who duplicates the trip become a collaborator on my original?
No. Duplication creates a fully independent copy. The other person's trip is separate — changes they make don't affect your original, and vice versa.
Can I control who duplicates my trip?
Duplication requires your profile to be set to Discoverable and the trip to be shared. If you turn off sharing, the trip can no longer be duplicated by others.
What's included in the duplicate?
The duplicate includes all itinerary places, flights, accommodation, and the schedule. It does not include your personal notes, budget data, or memories.
Can I duplicate someone else's trip from their public profile?
Yes. If a user has shared their trips publicly, you can visit their profile and click 'Duplicate trip' on any shared trip to add it to your own planner.
