Reporting a memory or a profile
How to report a memory, a profile or a comment on Galmund, what happens next and how reviews work.
Last reviewed: 2026-10-05
If a memory, a profile or a comment breaks the rules, report it. Reports are reviewed by Galmund's team, and the person you report is never told who sent it.
How to report a memory
- In the community feed: tap the flag icon (Report) in the corner of the post.
- On a memory you're viewing: open the More options menu (the three dots) and choose Report.
Then pick a reason and send:
- Spam or scam
- Nudity or sexual content
- Violence
- Hate speech or harassment
- Something else
You can add details if you want (up to 500 characters). The memory disappears from your view as soon as the report is sent.
How to report a profile
Open the person's profile, tap More options next to their name and choose Report profile. Pick a reason and send, the same way as for a memory.
You need to be signed in to report, and the option only appears on other people's content.
How to report a comment
Tap Report under the comment. There's no reason to choose. If you're the author of the post, the comment is hidden for everyone right away; otherwise it goes to the team.
What happens next
- Your report goes to Galmund's moderation team.
- If three different people report the same memory or profile, it's hidden automatically while the team reviews it: the memory becomes visible only to its owner, and the profile stops appearing on its public page and in search.
- The team decides: the content comes back, or the memory is deleted and the profile stays hidden.
💡 After you send a report, Galmund offers a Block button with the person's name, in case you also want to keep them away from your profile. See Blocking someone.
If your own memory was reported
When a memory is hidden for review, Galmund emails you in your profile's language. The memory stays visible to you, and it returns to public if the team finds it follows the terms of use. If you think it's a mistake, reply to that email.
Frequently asked questions
Will the person know I reported them?
No. Only Galmund's moderation team sees who sent a report. If a memory gets hidden for review, its owner is told that other people reported it, never who.
What happens to a memory after it's reported?
It disappears for you right away. If three different people report the same memory, it becomes visible only to its owner until our team reviews it. The team then either restores it or removes it.
Can I undo a report?
No. Once sent, a report goes to review. If you reported something by mistake, nothing happens to the other person unless the team finds a real problem.
My memory was hidden after reports. What can I do?
Reply to the email Galmund sent you if you think it's a mistake. The memory stays visible to you while the team reviews it, and goes back to public if it follows the terms of use. You can't make it public again yourself during the review.
Is there a limit to how many reports I can send?
You can report each memory or profile once, and send up to 20 reports a day. You can't report your own content.
