Travelers reviewing a shared trip plan together

When someone invites you to a trip, you get full access to plan alongside them.

Accepting an invite

You'll receive an email with a link to join the trip. Click the link to open Galmund — you'll be prompted to log in or create an account if you don't have one. After logging in, the trip is added to your account automatically.

How the trip looks

The shared trip appears in your My Trips panel with the owner's name shown below the trip title. It works just like your own trips — the same globe, planner, and schedule view.

What you can do as a collaborator

  • Browse and add recommended places to the itinerary
  • Remove places from the itinerary
  • Add and edit flights and accommodation
  • Build and edit the day-by-day schedule
  • Add notes and costs to schedule items
  • Browse the budget (but only see your own costs)

What you cannot do

  • Delete the trip
  • Invite other collaborators
  • Remove existing members
  • Transfer ownership

Leaving a trip

If you no longer want access to a shared trip, open the trip settings (⚙) and click Leave trip. The trip disappears from your account. The owner and other members are not notified automatically.

💡 If you want to use the itinerary as a base for your own independent planning, ask the trip owner to enable public sharing so you can duplicate it to your own account.

Frequently asked questions

Where does the trip appear in my account after I accept an invite?

It appears in your My Trips panel, labelled with the owner's name. It looks and works just like a trip you created yourself, with the exception that you can't delete it or invite others.

If the trip owner edits something, do I see the changes immediately?

Yes. Changes made by any member (owner or collaborator) are reflected in real time for all members the next time they open the trip.

Can I leave a shared trip?

Yes. Open the trip settings (⚙) and click 'Leave trip'. The trip will be removed from your account. The owner and other collaborators retain access.

Can I use the shared trip's itinerary for my own separate planning?

Not directly — you'd need to be invited to the same trip. However, if the owner has enabled public sharing, you can duplicate it from their public profile.
