Once you've added attractions to a stop on your itinerary, you can order them manually or let Galmund reorganize them on its own.
Manual drag-and-drop
Inside a stop, every attraction has a drag handle. Grab it and drag the item up or down to reorder within that stop. The change saves automatically.
💡 Reordering manually turns off automatic reorganization for that specific stop only; the trip's other stops keep reorganizing themselves as they gain new attractions.
Automatic reorganization per stop
As soon as a stop reaches 3 attractions, Galmund already reorganizes their order on its own by shortest distance between them, and reorganizes again every time a new one is added, as long as you haven't manually reordered that stop (see the tip above).
A Reorganize button also shows up at the top of any stop's attraction list once it has 3 or more items. Click it any time to force a fresh optimization (and turn automatic reorganizing back on, if you'd turned it off by reordering by hand). After it runs, a banner shows the distance before and after:
Optimized: 4.2 km → 2.8 km · Undo
Click Undo to revert to the previous order.
💡 This only applies to the Attractions tab. Restaurants and Stays keep the order you added them in, with no automatic reorganizing.
Frequently asked questions
How does the automatic optimization work?
Galmund uses a nearest-neighbor algorithm with 2-opt improvement to find the shortest open path through a stop's attractions. It runs on its own once a stop reaches 3 attractions, and again every time a new one is added, so you don't have to click anything.
Does optimization use real street distances?
No, it uses straight-line (haversine) distances between points. Real street routing would require a paid maps API. For most urban itineraries, the straight-line result is a good approximation.
Does reorganizing work for restaurants and stays too?
No, only for Attractions. Restaurants and Stays keep the order you added them in.
Can I undo a reorganization (automatic or manual)?
Yes. After reorganizing, a banner appears showing the distance before and after, with an 'Undo' button. This works both for the automatic reorganization and for when you click Reorganize yourself.
Does reorganizing affect the Schedule?
No. Reorganizing changes the order in the Itinerary list, within the stop, but doesn't move items already placed in the Schedule. Re-sort the schedule manually if needed.
